MALDIVE HOLIDAYS
We love the Maldives and have been visiting all different Islands for over 15 years.
Some islands we have stayed on more than once, but we try to choose a different one each year.
We both learnt to dive 6 years ago and did our Padi Open water certification.
We learnt in the UK at Scuba and Outdoor Pursuits in Cannock.
The course was for 6 weeks, 1 theory and 1 practical lesson and a test a week, with lots of revision in between. finishing with 4 Open water dives on the last weekend. A great experience.
Paul went on to do Advanced Open water and Rescue diver, Nitrox, etc, started his Dive master, but did not get round to finishing it yet!!!
The marine life is fantastic and if you are a diver, you must go here.
Snorkeling is the best you can get and most islands have their own house reef.
Each Island has their own dive centre.
Diving is not as cheap as Europe or Egypt, but far better dive sites so worth the money.
Islands we stayed on :-
Baros
Full Moon
Kuredu
Villavaru
Giravaru
Mayaafushi
Kuramathi
Embudu
Fihalhohi

PAULS VEG GROWING
Paul has been growing veg for a couple of years now, but this year was special as the new addition to the garden was his new Greenhouse. It has 3 auto roof vents and slat ventilation.
All kitted out with staging and seed racks. He installed an electric supply to it for the heated propagators, fan heater and most importantly his radio to listen to Football. Oh and a massive strip light big enough to light up the whole street!!!
He started sowing seeds as early as February.
I bought most of the seeds from Ebay, it is far cheaper than anywhere else. In fact I had an addiction to buying seeds, so Paul and Jade banned me from buying any more. ( I KNOW DIFFERENT)
We have pots of all shapes and sizes everywhere, Bill & Ben would have a field day!!!
After months of hard work, sowing, transplanting and re-potting, we see some well nurtured plants looking mighty healthy.
So far he has grown:
- tomatoes
- potatoes
- garlic
- sweet corn
- carrots
- onions
- spring onions
- lettus all kinds
- radish
- courgettes
- broad beans
- french beans
- bolotti beans
- peas
- peppers
- chili
- basil
- coriander
- oregano
- cabbage
- broccoli
- cucumber
- turnip
- aubergines
- strawberry
- raspberry
fruit trees;-
- lemon
- orange
- pear
- cherry
We are eating radish and lettus and using all the herbs so far. They taste so delicious.
